2018 United Way Day of Caring

Mastercard Canada volunteers help out during seniors Mother’s Day High Tea event

The Abrigo Centre was honoured to host three volunteers from Mastercard Canada who took part in the this year’s United Way Day of Caring event which was held on Thursday, May 10th. This was the second year for Abrigo to participate in this special day. It gives staff members from local and national corporations the opportunity to volunteer with a social service agency aligned with the United Way.

Thank you to our new friends Laura, Stephanie and Danai from Mastercard Canada for spending the day with the seniors in our Life and Hope group. The group was holding it’s annual Mother’s Day High Tea that day so our special volunteers spent a significant amount of time helping to prepare a special meal for 100 program participants.

We hope all our clients had a wonderful time at this great event and we also extend our thanks to the volunteers from Mastercard Canada for giving back to the community. It was great to have you join us. Thank you!
