Abrigo’s Annual General Meeting Proves to be Another Great Success
TAG-V Program focus of this year’s special presentation
The Abrigo Centre held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, September 22 at Loretto College, just a short walk from the agency. The evening started with an open reception for arriving guests and was followed by the annual business of the Board of Directors. Special recognition was provided to retiring Board member Daniela Pacheco for completing six years of outstanding service to the agency.
Featured in the second half of the meeting was a wonderful presentation and video on our Teens Against Gender-Based Violence (TAG-V) program. This program is now in its fourth year and is funded through a grant from the Canadian Women’s Foundation. The TAG-V program goes into local high schools, creates a safe and open environment, and addresses issues that are relevant to youth today. Topics include what is consent, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, bullying and sexting.
Abrigo thanks everyone who attended the event, most notably our student presenters and our program funders from various Ontario ministries and agencies.
