Abrigo Seniors Creating Play to Address Elder Abuse

New Horizons grant provides funding for multi-layered project

Abrigo recently received a Service Canada – New Horizons for Seniors Grant to document the process of creating a short series of stage scenes demonstrating the various forms of elder abuse.

Abrigo has started filming the rehearsals of “Digna Idade” and doing interviews with the cast and other Abrigo clients. Cast members were interviewed to share their experiences and relay what they have learned from this process.

We will record the journey of the actors and ultimately the final product for the next two months. Watch for both the play (coming to Abrigo and other agencies) and a video to be released later this spring.
