Abrigo Seniors Program is temporarily suspended
Status update to be provided on April 1With the rapid growth of COVID-19 or the coronavirus, the Abrigo Centre has decided to temporarily suspend the Life and Hope seniors group until at least April 1, 2020. On April 1 a decision will be made whether to continue with the suspension or establish a new start date. This program normally occurs Tuesday through Thursday on Abrigo’s second floor.
The health and wellbeing of our clients, staff and volunteers is of the utmost concern for our agency. Although the dynamic seniors program plays an important part in the lives of many clients, protecting their safety and that of our staff members, students and volunteers is a priority.
In addition to the suspension of the seniors program, Abrigo has also postponed an Information Night and Reception for the adult children of our senior clients scheduled for Thursday, March 26. Held annually, the evening is an opportunity for the adult children to experience the Abrigo Centre, many for the first time, and learn more about the organization and how it impacts their parents. This event will be rescheduled for a later date.
As COVID-19 evolves it may impact other Abrigo programs and services. Watch here for more information as it becomes available.
