For over 32 years the Portuguese-speaking community, and those living around Abrigo, have turned to our agency for help. Whether it’s a language barrier issue, a literacy issue or something as simple as not owning a computer to file government forms, Abrigo has been there to lend a hand.

Abrigo’s Community Development and Integration Program (CDIP), funded with the assistance of the United Way Greater Toronto, allows any new client to speak to one of our Intake Counsellors between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Our Intake team will identify if our services align with your issue or concern, and if so, they will either assist you with your required service or refer you to a counsellor who can best assist you. If your concern falls out of the realm of our day-to-day activities, a referral will be made to another social service agency better suited to resolve your concerns.

The CDIP program provides clients with support with income maintenance issues such as applying for Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, Spousal Allowance, Property Tax and Water Relief Program and other programs.

Community Development and Integration Program

The CDIP program offers information and referrals on other government support services and non-profit services and programs that support individuals and families such as referrals to mental health services, referrals to legal aid and legal clinics, referrals to settlement, education and employment supports.

The Community Development and Integration Program empowers individuals and families to access the information and support they need in order to thrive in their community. Abrigo’s talented and experienced team of counsellors will be able to help you.
