Abrigo is taking part in Giving Tuesday for a second year

Giving Tuesday is now just under two weeks away. You’ve heard about the shopping frenzy caused by Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but Giving Tuesday is an online opportunity to support local charities that make a difference in your community.

This year the Abrigo Centre we will be raising funds online for our seniors Life and Hope Group. With almost 200 registered members, Abrigo’s second floor hall is regularly filled with music, laughter and activity. Six years ago Abrigo received donated chairs for use in that program, however ongoing wear and tear has left many of those chairs in poor condition and a number have been discarded as a result.

The comfort and safety of our clients is a priority. As a result, Abrigo hopes to raise $4,000 this year on Giving Tuesday to purchase 100 new chairs for our seniors group. On Tuesday November 28th please support this urgent initiative.
