COVID Clinic Spotlights Kids’ Vaccinations Before Start of School Year
The Abrigo Centre is hosting another COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The focus of this clinic will be to get children and teens vaccinated before they return to school in September.
According to the latest reported data from the City of Toronto, in the Corso Italia / Davenport riding there are 400 young people in the age group five to 17 years who have yet to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and a mere 14.5 per cent in that age group have received a booster (third) shot. That means over 1,400 young people in the riding were Abrigo resides still needs their booster.
What better time to get that shot than now. Our clinic will be held exactly two weeks prior to the first day of school. Vaccines are safe, effective and helps keep people out of the hospital.
The Canadian Red Cross will be providing first, second, third or fourth doses to anyone five years of age and up based on eligibility. Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available. Please note, no infant/toddler doses (children less than five years old) will be provided at this clinic.
Individuals are encouraged to book their appointment by calling the Abrigo Centre at 416-534-3434. Walk-ins are available for this clinic. A valid Ontario Health Card is not required, all are welcome!
